Rainey Engineering Solutions Purchased By Mapal

For the past 15 years Rainey has been working closely with precision tooling expert MAPAL as a lead agent. During this time the two companies have forged an excellent working relationship based on offering technical, innovative, quality products that are delivered to the customer quickly and cost effectively.

This acquisition provides a significant expansion of the MAPAL Groups manufacturing capability for carbide products and end mills. It is set to further reduce lead times for customers of both companies and, in particular, to increase capacity to support the exacting needs of the automotive and aerospace industries. It is complimented by on-going investment in new manufacturing equipment and facilities at MAPAL’s main UK location in Rugby.

“A great working relationship based on mutual respect and admiration – that’s the best way to describe the partnership between MAPAL and Rainey”, said Roy Douglas, Managing Director at Rainey “We believe that being part of the MAPAL group allows us access to world leading technology and by uniting our resources, we’ll be able to optimise customer service and further improve our already excellent speed of response to the domestic market”

Wayne Whitehouse, Managing Director at MAPAL UK added: “Acquiring Rainey was a strategic decision that will contribute significantly to our continuing growth in the short and long term. With recent investment in our Rugby facility and support from Rainey, we will be able to take on domestic projects from the smallest to the largest, and deliver efficient and cost-effective solutions. As we have been collaborating successfully with Rainey for many years and as we share the same business ethos, we are confident that the integration of our operations will go smoothly and will deliver big benefits for all parties – not least for the customers of both companies.”

Thanks to the acquisition, MAPAL will increase its staff numbers by 25%, taking the total head count to 75 in the UK market.
